Luxury Kitchen Custom Cabinetry Design Ideas

MRETTY ATELIER

Luxury Kitchen Cabinetry, Built To Last

Cabinet boxes that will still close softly in 2040. Stone that will not stain. A kitchen designed around how you actually cook.

BOOK A CONSULTATION

A luxury kitchen is not defined by the price tag - it is defined by the quietness of the soft-close, the heft of the drawer when it is full, the seam you cannot find on the stone. These are the details that separate a 5-year kitchen from a 20-year one.

THE MRETTY APPROACH

Built On Three Principles

01

Carcass Built To Outlast The Trend

18mm E0 plywood carcasses with laser-sealed edges. While the door style may date, the structure will not.

02

Blum As Standard, Not Upgrade

Every drawer runs on Blum Tandembox. Every door uses Blum Blumotion soft-close. No exceptions, no 'premium tier' upsell.

03

Stone Without Compromise

Single-slab waterfall islands. Mitred edges, not bullnose. Sintered stone available for cooking surfaces that resist heat and acid.

The Five Decisions That Matter Most
CHAPTER 01

The Five Decisions That Matter Most

From hundreds of kitchen briefs, these are the choices that shape a kitchen more than any other:

  1. Layout type - galley, L, U, or island. Determined by plumbing stack location, not preference.
  2. Tall pantry vs base storage - vertical storage is 40% more efficient.
  3. Door profile - shaker, slab, or grooved. Sets the entire tone.
  4. Worktop material - quartz, sintered, or natural stone.
  5. Hood integration - flush, recessed, or feature.
What Goes Into A Door
CHAPTER 02

What Goes Into A Door

A MRETTY kitchen door has five layers: MDF substrate, primer, base coat, color coat, and matte or satin top coat - each sprayed in a dust-free booth, baked, and sanded between coats. Total turnaround per door: 7 working days. A laminated door takes one hour. The difference shows up in five years.

Why Custom Beats Modular For Kitchens
CHAPTER 03

Why Custom Beats Modular For Kitchens

Singapore kitchens have non-standard ceiling heights (often 2.7-3.0m), structural beams, and unusual stack positions. Modular sizing leaves dead space above wall cabinets and awkward fillers. Custom uses the full envelope - which is why custom kitchens of the same footprint hold 20-30% more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Honest Answers

What is a fair price for a luxury custom kitchen in Singapore?+

For a typical condo galley (4-5 linear metres) with stone tops and Blum hardware: S$18,000-S$35,000. Island kitchens with waterfall stone: S$35,000-S$70,000.

Quartz, sintered stone, or natural stone?+

Quartz is most forgiving. Sintered stone (Dekton, Neolith) resists heat and acid - best for active cooks. Natural stone (marble, granite) is the most beautiful and the most demanding to maintain.

Are handle-less kitchens worth the upcharge?+

If you cook daily, no - push-to-open hardware fatigues faster than handles. If you want a sculptural look and cook occasionally, yes.

Can you match an existing kitchen if I am only renovating part?+

Yes - we can colour-match doors and source matching hardware. Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly if the match will be invisible or close-but-different.
